About DIPRA
Founded in 1915, the Ductile Iron Pipe Research Association (DIPRA) has served as a resource and technical advisor to the water industry. DIPRA also provides representation on standards-making committees as well as technical research on a variety of applications-based topics. While DIPRA member companies have different names and locations, they share a common commitment to produce and deliver the finest quality water and wastewater pipe material in the world, Ductile Iron Pipe, and at the greatest possible value to its purchasers.
Position Overview
The Marketing and Communications Associate will play a pivotal role in supporting the implementation of our marketing and communications strategies aimed at promoting Ductile Iron Pipe in the water infrastructure industry. This position is an opportunity to contribute to a mission-driven organization that advocates for best practices in water infrastructure investment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategy Implementation: Assist in executing communications and marketing strategies that align with the overall Public Affairs plan of the association.
- Content Development: Create compelling content for various communication channels, including website updates, paid advertising, email/e-newsletters, press releases, and social media.
- Audience Engagement: Identify and engage relevant stakeholders, including industry professionals, media representatives, and community members, to promote awareness of the association’s initiatives and the benefits of Ductile Iron Pipe.
- Media Relations: Build and maintain relationships with media contacts to secure coverage of the association's activities and key messages.
- Event Support: Assist in the planning and execution of marketing efforts for association events, webinars, and outreach programs.
- Market Research: Conduct research to stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and stakeholder interests to inform strategic communication efforts.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the VP of Marketing and Communications and our public affairs and marketing agency to ensure cohesive messaging and positioning. Will work closely with DIPRA's Technical Resources team.
- Reporting: Monitor and report on the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and communications initiatives, adjusting strategies as necessary.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field is required.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in marketing and communications, preferably in a non-profit or trade association setting.
- Strong writing and editing skills with an eye for detail.
- Familiarity with digital marketing tools and platforms, including social media and email marketing.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and networking skills to cultivate relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Passion for the water infrastructure industry and commitment to advancing sustainable practices.

- This position will work from home and will not require a move to a new location. Candidates living in either Baltimore, MD, Denver, CO, or Washington, D.C. will be given preference.
